Lord Baden-Powell Society now on Facebook

Lbps on facebookIt is with great pleasure that we announce the Lord Baden-Powell Society has launched a Facebook page...just one of the many exciting developments in our 30th year of operation.

Our social media presence is quickly becoming a vital channel for sharing good news stories from the Society and Scouting in general. It allows us to communicate more regularly with you - our members - as well as the broader Scouting community.

To date, it has proven a great success in spreading the word about the ways in which give young people the opportunities of a lifetime. All of which has increased awareness of the Society within the Movement.

The Society invites you to like the page and share it with your friends, so that more and more people get to know the positive impact that both the Society and Scouting has on young lives.

Bequest Update

The Lord Baden-Powell Society pays tribute to Owen Longfield who left a significant gift to the Society in his Will.Owen Longfield, a retired teacher, joined the Society in 1996 as a member and upgraded to a Leader in 1997, then upgraded again in 2004 to Patron. He has been a consistent contributor to the Jamboree Fund since 2003 and even went so far as to call and say that if there were any direct requests for money can they be referred onto Mr Longfield personally and he will see what he can do to help.

In 2012, Mr Longfield joined the LBPS Honours Circle but sadly was unable to attend a presentation of his Award as was suffering from Parkinson’s Disease.Owen Longfield was called home on 19/02/2015 at the age of 90 years.

If you would like more information about leaving a Bequest to the Society, please contact the Society on (02) 8440 5908.
