Chief Scout of Australia
Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, CVO
Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, CVO with Scouts at the Bourke PCYC.
The Chief Scout of Australia is nominated by the National Executive Committee and is invited by the President of Scouts Australia to accept the appointment. Historically, the Chief Scout of Australia has been the Governor-General of Australia.
Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, was appointed Chief Scout in a ceremony on 3rd December 2008.
The Chief Scout addresses the membership of Scouts Australia each year as part of the worldwide event Jamboree On The Air and Jamboree On The Internet with a pre-recorded speech distributed by internet and broadcast on amateur radio.
