Applications for Venturer Scouts are now closed. \nAdult applications will continue to be accepted until midnight\, 23 February 2025. \nFor Venturer Scouts who have initiated or submitted an application\, but not paid a deposit\, your application has been added to our waitlist. This does not apply to adult applications. \nWe acknowledge there will be disappointment from Venturer Scouts who have missed out on this incredible adventure. There may be an opportunity later in the year to accept additional applications should places become available for Australian Venturer Scouts. At this point\, we have reached our limit of 500 Australian Venturer Scouts. \n  \nScouts Australia is sending a Contingent to the 16th Aotearoa / New Zealand Jamboree in December 2025 – January 2026. \nAttending a New Zealand Venture is an outstanding introduction to International Scouting. Set in one of the most picturesque countries on the planet\, Australian Scouts will be offered a program of outdoor adventure and cultural immersion that will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience. \nDates \nThe Australian Contingent will depart on 28 December 2025 and return to Australia on 9 January 2026. An optional post-tour featuring a selection of thrill-seeking and cultural activities will also be offered to Australian Contingent members\, returning to Australia on 14 January 2026.   \nLocation \nPhase One includes a choice of Expeditions stretching from the upper South Island to the middle of the North Island. Phase Two will be held at the Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre\, one hour from Wellington.  \nApplications \nOfficial applications to join the Australian Contingent to the 16th Aotearoa / New Zealand Venture opened on 8 January 2025. As of 15 February 2025\, we have filled all 500 places for Australian Venturer Scouts and are not accepting any further Venturer Scout applications. Adult applications will remain open until 23 February 2025.  \nVenturer Scout and line leader applicants will need to nominate their top three Expedition preferences upon application. Expedition places will be allocated in the order that applications are submitted with deposit paid. To secure your preferred Expedition\, applicants are encouraged to submit their application and pay the deposit as soon as possible after applications open on 8 January 2025. Expeditions will be allocated after applications close.   \nContact \nPlease don’t hesitate to direct any questions to the Contingent Management Team by emailing nzv2026@scouts.com.au \n

Hidden within the Finnish forest were admin buildings\, 15 metre tall tree houses and saunas floating on lakes\, all built by hand\, out of timber and rope\, by Finnish scouts in the weeks before the event. We were given the chance to create our own experience during the event\, with minimal pre-arranged activities and lots of freedom to choose what do to do when. From hanging out in the sauna with friends\, working out in the gym made from items found in the forest\, sitting around the campfire on the edge of the lake\, to climbing up stacks of hay bails with ice axes or learning dances from Scouts from all over the world. Kajo is an opportunity for Australian Scouts to have a taste of pure Scouting in a country with a rich and interesting culture.” \nCharlie Ryan-Kane\, Australian Contingent Leader \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n				  \nVisit the Scouts Australia On-Line Events Management System (OLEMS) to apply: \nhttps://registrations.international.scouts.com.au \n  \n \n Download the Event Details\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Countdown until the Australian Contingent departs for Finland\n \n \n Day(s) \n \n : \n \n \n Hour(s) \n \n : \n \n \n Minute(s) \n \n : \n \n \n Second(s)
