Since 1984, Members of the Lord Baden-Powell Society have helped young Australians experience the benefits and joy of Scouting through private financial support.

Many prominent Australian citizens acknowledge the role of Scouting in developing personal characteristics that can’t be learned anywhere else. The priceless support of Lord Baden-Powell Society Members shapes young lives in many ways:

  • Strengthening the Scout program that prepares young adults for life;
  • Enabling disadvantaged young people to experience the life-changing benefits of Scouting;
  • Providing equipment, camp sites and activity bases;
  • Supporting major Scouting events such as Cuborees and Jamborees;
  • Helping to create upstanding citizens and the leaders of tomorrow.

In recent years the Society has made significant contributions to Australian Scouting, giving around $130,000 per annum to the State Branches. The Society also gives substantial grants to financially-disadvantaged Scouts who would otherwise be unable to afford the attendance fees for national and international Jamborees. Click here to read more about our Jamboree Appeal.

Some Members have generously chosen to make a bequest to the Scout Association of Australia. Contributions such as these help to keep the cost of Scouting low and enable more new Youth Members to join.

All donations to the Scout Association of Australia – Lord Baden-Powell Society are tax deductible.

Benefits

All Members will appear on the Honour Roll of Members of the Society. You will also be emailed a regular newsletter with updates on activities and events. All donations to the Scout Association of Australia – Lord Baden-Powell Society are tax deductible.

Gifts and Bequests

It is not easy to think about a time when you are no longer here. But for many it is reassuring to know that, even after death, you can continue to make a contribution to Australia’s youth. Your Will allows you to make an impact on future generations. Not only the inheritance you leave to your family and friends, but the opportunities you can provide for assistance to others who will benefit from your legacy.

If you would like more information about leaving a Bequest to the Society, please call the Society on (02) 84405908 or email lbps@scouts.com.au.

You can continue to help develop the leaders of tomorrow long after you have gone, by providing a gift or bequest in your Will..

Experiencing a Jamboree and seeing how much Scouting has to offer inspires me to do great, achieve my ASM and continue through Venturers and Rovers and perhaps one day become a Leader and help educate our future scouts.

I would like to personally thank the Lord Baden-Powell Society, without them I would be at Scouts listening to others talk about the Jamboree and wishing, just wishing that I would have had the opportunity to attend

– Jessie, Scout –

Without you I could not have gone to the Jamboree and experienced the fun and all the challenging activities, the fantastic concerts, fireworks and meeting new people all around Australia!!

So thank you so much for giving me the this wonderful experience

– Chris, Scout –
