Scouts is all about ‘learning by doing’, and Scouting’s members are learning every day. The skills learnt help to develop active citizens who contribute to society and help to create a better world. Scouts Australia also facilitates a comprehensive formal training framework for its youth members and adult leaders.
While all youth members participate and learn about adventurous activities, Venturer Scouts, Rover Scouts and Adult Leaders can participate in specific adventurous activities programs.
Through SAIT, Scouts Australia offers members the opportunity to earn nationally recognised qualifications from Cert II up to Diploma level. Qualifications can be earned in Business, Leadership and Management and Outdoor Recreation, and usually at a fraction of the cost of courses provided by other institutions.
Like their counterparts around the world, Scouts Australia’s Adult Leaders are trained through the Woodbadge Training Program which conforms to the requirements of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.
