Despite the current worldwide health crisis, it’s important to commemorate ANZAC Day. Here are some ideas on how you can commemorate from home.
As Scout Groups and Units across the country embrace new ways of Scouting, and Scouting@Home, Scouts Australia encourages our members to still embrace the activities of the RSL this ANZAC Day.
The RSL will be streaming a short commemorative service at 6.00am.
All RSL Branches have encouraged “Australians to stand together even though we’re apart, by taking part in a collective Dawn Service, standing at the end of your driveway or on your balcony at 6am on ANZAC Day” (RSL NSW), and we’re encouraging you to do this too; no matter where you live.
Members will still be able to earn the 2020 Their Service, Our Heritage Badge. The requirements of this badge is to participate in up to three activities which reflect the ANZAC Spirit, which could be easily adapted for Scouting@Home. Some examples include:
Although we’re facing new challenges in 2020, ANZAC Day is an important event and Scouts Australia will support the RSL by celebrating it wherever we are on April 25.
Please note: We have removed Leader only restrictions for the 2020 ANZAC period only so that all members can purchase the Their Service, Our Heritage badge.
