Through the Scouts Australia Institute of Training, our members are able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning on the new Vocational Education and Training Unit of Competency Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
Scouts Australia Institute of Training (SAIT) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 5443). On 12 May 2020, the Australian Government, through the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC), released a new unit of competency HLTINFCOV001 – Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures. The AISC has identified infection control training as a key priority across a range of industry sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. This unit of competency has been endorsed by the AISC Emergency Response Sub-Committee, and the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Skills Council. This unit of competency will help minimise the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus as Australia moves towards the rebuilding of businesses, the workforce and a stronger economy.
Any member of Scouts Australia who has sufficient evidence can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Experiences and learning received by both youth and Leaders across Australia, can be used to seek RPL. A typical pathway that enables collection of current, valid and reliable evidence may include:
