Scouts | Terrain major improvements now enables more members to support our youth program.
Scouts | Terrain has launched significant updates to improve the user experience.
As with any technology project, there are many aspects that can be improved and streamlined. At each update, we have taken a Plan > Do> Review> approach to ensure the system meets the needs of the youth program, and supports our members to manage modern Scouting. Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback via the surveys and via email.
Scouts | Terrain has evolved from an initial launch that prioritised core features – recording Achievement Pathways, enabling basic programming and organising Groups, Units & Patrols. The second round of updates aimed to improve the user experience by reworking and streamlining:
This third significant update provides the ability for Program Support Leaders who may not have a role within a Group to more easily support the program. Check out system update notes here.
Exploring the updates is easy. Within Scouts | Terrain, switch to the Support Leader Role, clicking into Branch Life, then search for the formations you support. You can use this tool to search formations across the Branch, each formation will have an aggregate view of how they are using the system across the Group. Check out the Program Support Leader Guide to see how to do each of these functions.
We have also made improvements to troubleshooting. Our volunteer support team now have the ability to act as if they were any member to help resolve issues more efficiently.
The system will continue to evolve and is shaped on constructive feedback we have received along the way. Program Support Leaders can now actively support Scouting and this is a huge stride forward. The team will continue to Plan > Do > Review > every step of the way. Stay informed for the next opportunity to provide feedback and shape the system early next year.
