Logan – Australian Capital Territory
“I am absolutely thrilled to have been selected as a Youth Ambassador to represent Scouts. I am deeply committed to the values of Scouting and firmly believe in its transformative power to develop confident and compassionate youth. Beyond my involvement in Scouts, my dedication to service extends to advocating for neurodiverse youth.
Since joining the Scouting movement, I have experienced a a multitude of incredible opportunities, from local to international levels. Through Scouts, I have developed essential skills, gained confidence, and formed friendships within a supportive community.
I am currently a Venturer Scout and am actively engaged as a Joey Scout Helper, steadily progressing toward becoming a Joey Scout Leader. Working with young children has underscored the importance of encouragement and fostering a strong sense of community. It is a true privilege to instil Scouting values in our youngest members.
Another highlight has been working with the GG’s Camp program team to coordinate the 2024 Governor-General’s camp, a monumental event catering to 2500 youth members. This role has afforded me invaluable insights into the dedication and unwavering commitment of the adults who support our youth members. I look forward to the new adventures this role will bring!” – Logan
Lincoln – South Australia
“Hello, everyone! My name is Lincoln, and I am excited to be part of the Scouting Ambassador Program. I have been involved in Scouts for 8 years, and the journey has been incredibly rewarding. I am a Venturer at Belair Scout Group, and I am a Cub Scout Youth Helper at Eden Hills in South Australia. Over the years, I’ve had many amazing adventures including hiking through the Flinders Ranges, camping in breathtaking locations and being mentored by passionate and inspiring people. These experiences have allowed me to form lasting friendships. As an Australian Scout Award recipient, my next goal is to complete the Queen’s Scout Award. I am excited to be attending Venture24 and I eagerly await the incredible adventures that are ahead in my Scouting journey. ” – Lincoln
Amelia – New South Wales
“I was invested into Scouting in 2019 and went to a camp on the next weekend. This was a very special moment for me as I had never been camping in my life! From that moment on, I was hooked, and took part in every activity that was available to me. I have made a lot of really great friends through Scouts, and I hope we will remain close forever.
The biggest highlight of my Scouting adventure so far must be the World Jamboree in South Korea. Despite what you might have heard, we had a huge adventure and I learned I could do many new things and I would go again if I had the chance. Other adventures have included Air Activities, learning how to sail, abseiling and Jamboree of the Air (which was hosted by my dad, who happens to be an amateur radio operator and former Scout).
I’ve attended State Rallies, Jamborettes and Scout Hike as well as twice being voted a member of the Regional Council for Greater Western Sydney. I also attended a 8-day camp (School for Adventure, Heathcote) that was organised by South Metropolitan Region Scouts and Guides.
In fact, Scouting has also caught on in my whole family. Mum is the treasurer at my local Scout group, and Dad is an active helper.” – Amelia
Eliza – Queensland
“My name is Eliza, I am a Rover Scout from Kennedy Region in North Queensland. I have been involved in Scouts since the age of 5 and have enjoyed every minute of it since! Throughout my Scouting journey, I have had many memorable and exciting moments such New Zealand Venture, Jamboree, region camps and Ski Moot. I believe the experiences that I have had through Scouts have provided me with a greater world perspective and have allowed me to work outside of my comfort zone while making life-long friends. Through the life-long and positive experiences I have endured in Scouts, I would like to employ the Scouting values and beliefs through the Youth Ambassador program.” – Eliza
Charles – Queensland
“Hello all, my name is Charles! I am a Scout Leader and Rover Scout at Cleveland Scout Group, in the South-Eastern corner of Scouts Queensland. I also sit on the Queensland Branch Rover Council as a Region Representative, and on the Branch Youth Council as the outgoing Secretary and current Acting Chair. I love everything I do in Scouting, and constantly endeavour to take on challenges with courage. I look for all opportunities to develop myself in all areas of SPICES, and to contribute back to my community. I can’t wait to see how I can develop and what I can contribute to being a Scouts Australia Youth Ambassador.” – Charles
Cat – Victoria
“Hey! My name is Cat, I’ve been in Scouting and Guiding for over a decade. Being in Scouting has given me passion and drive. I’ve been able to step out of my comfort zone multiple times and do things I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. Some of my highlights during my Scouting career would have to be being on the Victorian Venturer Scout Council, meeting amazing lifelong friends at my Venturer Scout Unit, going caving and being at VicJam ‘22. I am always encouraged by my leader Cal to take on any challenge that comes my way and I’m looking forward to my next one as Youth Ambassador!” – Cat
Kooper – Victoria
“During my ten years in Scouting so far I have been on heaps of camps, such as Cuboree 8 and AJ2019 as a participant. More recently I have enjoyed taking a service path in Scouting attending Cuboree 10, VicJam, Cuboree 11 in roles such as activities team and sites and services. Outside of that I was on the Vic Gathering Committee in 2022 and a member of the Victorian Venturer Scout Council helping promote and support Venturer Scouts in Victoria. I cannot wait to be able to help promote Scouting in Australia to the world.” – Kooper
Avery – Western Australia
“Hi there! My name is Avery. I’m 17 years old and have been a part the world of Scouting since I was 13. However, I didn’t start my Scouting journey in Australia. My journey started in my hometown of San Diego, California. I attended two different weeklong summer camps in my first summer and learned many valuable skills. When the pandemic hit my family moved to Australia and I began my Australian Scouting journey as a Venturer Scout. I’ve served terms as a Unit Leader, Assistant Unit Leader, and Public Relations of the Darlington Venturer Scout Unit. I even had the opportunity to attend WA’s One Camp. It allowed me to learn more about Scouts Australia and made me want to be more involved. I’m now a part of WA’s Branch Youth Council and an Assistant Unit Leader for WA’s AJ2025 contingent. I continue to enjoy all of the opportunities different Scouting programs have presented me with and I look forward to this new future.” – Avery
This team of Youth Ambassadors will begin their term from October 2023 for a period of 12 months. Can’t wait to see what they will be up to next!
