The Lord Baden Powell Society

 AJ2025 Appeal

The Lord Baden-Powell Society (LBPS) is rallying supporters around their goal to ensure every young Australian Scout can access the transformational experiences like Jamborees and International Scout experiences, irrespective of their financial background.

Each year, countless young people dream of attending events where they get to engage in life-changing skills, friendships, and international experiences. Sadly, many find their dreams dashed by financial constraints. The Jamboree Appeal, instituted by the Lord Baden-Powell Society, bridges this gap by distributing funds to those in need.

We start the year focussing our fundraising efforts on the 26th Australian Jamboree, AJ2025 in Queensland in January 2025.

LBPS made significant contributions last year to the 25th World Scout Jamboree held in South Korea where an impressive $24,000 was given in aiding 900 Australian Scouts and Venturers in their quest for global friendship.

Also last year, we generously contributed $37,500 in supporting the Contingent that travelled to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) for the centennial celebrations as well as, the OneCamp Eclipse event held in WA with a further $28,000.

The youth experiences in Korea, Western Australia and the celebrations at KISC have only deepened our commitment to ensuring every young Scout is provided experiences like these” said David Jones, Chairperson – LBPS.

With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, charitable donations have dwindled across various sectors. Despite these challenges, the LBPS has successfully raised $114,000 of their $150,000 target for the upcoming Australian Jamboree. This is a  significant chunk, but they need more to ensure every Scout can join this life changing event.
