JOTA-JOTI is the world’s largest digital and radio Scout event, held annually on the third weekend of October (18th – 20th). It began in 1957 as Jamboree on the Air (JOTA), allowing Scouts and Guides worldwide to communicate using amateur radio. In the 1990s, the internet component, Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI), was added, enabling even broader global connections and fostering international friendship and cultural exchange.
The theme for JOTA-JOTI 2024 is “Scouts for a Greener World.” This theme emphasises the crucial role of young people in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainability. By connecting Scouts globally, the event highlights the importance of proactive action and youth leadership in advocating for and working towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During JOTA-JOTI 2024, Scouts will have the opportunity to learn how they can contribute to preserving biodiversity and combating climate change while developing essential skills to protect our planet. This year’s event will offer a blend of online and offline activities, creating a space for Scouts to deepen their environmental consciousness, share ideas on eco-friendly and sustainable practices, and develop the green skills necessary to advocate for greener communities.
Objectives of JOTA-JOTI 2024:
Through these objectives, JOTA-JOTI 2024 will not only enhance Scouts understanding of environmental issues but also empower them to take meaningful action, fostering a global movement towards a greener, more sustainable future.

JOTA-JOTI is more than just a weekend of fun and interactive activities. It can be incorporated into your Scouting activities and may support Special Interest Area (SIA) Projects within the program.
It is a great opportunity to explore radio, communications, electronics and STEM related activities and a great doorway for Scouts around the world to connect, engage and develop friendship with each other through educational activities to build teamwork, cross-cultural understanding, skills and interests towards the Internet and amateur radio.
