Scouts Australia is excited to announce the appointment of Lily Canalese as Assistant National Commissioner Youth Program

Lily Canalese

Lily is passionate about supporting and delivering high‑quality Scouting events that provide meaningful, exciting experiences for youth and adults. With a strong interest in the event space and a desire to help Australian events reach their full potential, Lily joins the National Team bringing experience at state, national, and international levels.

As the Events and Initiatives Officer on the National Rover Council, Lily worked closely with the International Team to strengthen collaboration and increase Rover Scout engagement in International Scouting. She also promoted the opportunities and engagement in local activities, including contributing to initiatives such as #OutsideIn25. Lily has benefitted from the Leadership Through Adventure Fund through an alpine experience for sunshine state Rover Scouts, and now serves on the Leadership Through Adventure Fund committee. 

Internationally, Lily has attended numerous international events as a participant and as a leader. She has served on Contingent Management Teams for New Zealand Jamboree, New Zealand Moot, and as the Program Lead for the Australian Contingent at the most recent New Zealand Venture. Each experience has enabled her to gain insights from different cultures and event styles that inspire fresh ideas for Australian events.Lily also has a strong background in Adventurous Activities and currently serves as the Branch Advisor – Boating in Queensland.

Across all roles, Lily values collaboration, creativity, and delivering engaging experiences for youth. She is eager to bring this perspective to future events. We welcome Lily to the team!
