Landcare Week, is an opportunity to celebrate the volunteers who dedicate their time, energy and passion to protecting, restoring and caring for Australia’s natural environment.
Held annually during the first week of August, Landcare Week is a chance for Scouts across Australia to showcase the positive difference they are making in their local communities. From restoring bushland and protecting native wildlife to planting trees, cleaning waterways and supporting local conservation projects, Scouts are taking meaningful action to help create a healthier and more sustainable future.
Our natural environment is at the heart of the Scouting program. It is where young people learn, grow and challenge themselves through adventure. Many of our activities take place outdoors, from hiking, mountain biking and abseiling to camping beneath the stars, giving Scouts the opportunity to develop new skills while building a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. By caring for the places where we explore, we ensure that future generations can continue to experience the same sense of adventure, discovery and connection with nature.
This Landcare Week, Experience Landcare by celebrating and joining the remarkable environmental work already happening in your local area with your Scout Group. Whether you are planting trees, restoring bushland, cleaning up waterways or supporting a local conservation project, every action makes a difference.
Together, we can strengthen our connection with nature, care for Country, protect Australia’s unique biodiversity and help ensure future generations can enjoy the beauty of the natural world.
