Scouts Australia
Digital Transformation
Proposed current thinking
Building on the National Digital Ecosystem, work continues on the development of a Digital Transformation Roadmap. The roadmap will support the transformation of the digital ecosystem delivered by Scouts Australia to better support and connect all members across all Branches.
What does this mean for Scouting?
For members, families, and volunteers, Scouting will continue just as it does today – with strong local identity, programs and connections in every community. Those systems delivered by Scouts Australia will be brought up to date. In their look and feel and how our members use and interact with technology today. A positive flow on from this is improved operational efficiency and reduction in associated costs.
Currently Scouts Australia are looking at what systems are used, what the most pressing improvements required are, and how best to integrate all these systems for the future of Scouting. It is early days – Stages 1 and 2 on the above diagram.
To help with project governance and alignment, internally for Scouts and externally for digital providers, a set of principles have been developed. Catering for the Member Experience and System Design. Further, a RACI Matrix has been developed. Helping ensure Scouts Australia have captured which National and Branch bodies are responsible or accountable, or to be consulted with and informed. All three documents have been presented and approved by the NEC and NOC (membership of which is composed by all Branches).
