Dear Scouting Parents,
I write to you with an important invitation to meaningfully contribute to a vital part of the development of Scouting in Australia.
You may be aware that Scouts Australia is currently undertaking a major review of our youth program. This process is one that aims to develop Scouting to maximise its relevance to youth in 21st Century Australia and to attract, retain and best-develop the potential of a greater number of young Australians.
As part of our ongoing research for the Youth Program Review (YPR) we are conducting a national study of Australian families to better understand the needs, desires, and values they hold towards engaging in a youth development program. Having already completed a survey of over 1000 parents outside Scouting, the next step is in gathering data to compare this against the needs, desires and values of Scouting parents of youth aged 6-18. A key part of this process is this survey, in which I invite you to participate.
The independent research organisation McCrindle Research has been commissioned to conduct this research and your assistance in completing this survey will greatly assist our strategic directions to the above. This survey is completely anonymous; all answers will be combined and not identifiable to any individual.
We appreciate the value of your time and efforts, and will be very grateful for your participation. With your completion of the survey, you can opt to receive a special blanket badge for your Scouting child/ren. Please rest assured your responses will remain anonymous, and personal details safe.
Scouting youth and adult members will have separate opportunities to participate in smaller surveys focused on different topics and prepared by our volunteer teams over the coming weeks and months. Scouting members with children aged 6-18 in Scouting are also able to participate in the McCrindle survey.
