American Boy Scout Reinforces Why Scouts Are Still Relevant

In response to developments in the Boy Scouts of America Youth Program, one Scout penned an article on what makes Scouting still relevant.

Adult Scouts and community members are passionate about the importance and relevance of Scouting in today’s society. These attitudes have been reinforced by a recent newspaper article from American Boy Scout who believes in Scoutings values.

Written in response to the release of the latest edition of the Boy Scouts Handbook, the 6th grader discusses the skills he has learnt and how these can be used to help create a better world.

The release of the Boy Scouts Handbook includes information on modern topics such as how to handle cyberbullying, learning about STEM education and sustainability. In a changing and dynamic world, Scouting needs to be adaptable to the changes in society to help develop resilient and skilled young people. Through the Youth Program Review, Scouts Australia are responding to these societal changes to ensure our youth members are developed for contemporary society.
