Quadrupling previous numbers, more than 400 Scouts Australia members have participated in Branch Friendship Tours in the last year or so, with even more tours forecast for the next 12 months.
Scouts Australia has an obligation to inform other National Scouting Organisations (NSOs) when our Members are travelling overseas so that in an emergency, the host NSO can provide assistance (and vice versa for foreign Scouts in Australia).
Increased applications for travel overseas to Scouting events make it even more important that we as an organisation ensure the safety and protection of our members, by recording and approving all member travel, prior to the travel being undertaken. This includes enhanced procedures for disaster management and child protection.
Single travellers and organizers of Branch Friendship Tours can now register their travel for assessment and validation by their Branch International Commissioner, online via the On Line Events Management System (OLEMS).
