Over the Australian summer, sixteen Venturer Scouts immersed themselves in Danish or Japanese culture, when they participated in the 2017-2018 Scouts International Student Exchange Program (SISEP).
The Scouts International Student Exchange Program provides Venturer Scouts (16-17 years of age) with the opportunity to experience a different way of life by spending their summer holidays with a Scouting family in Scotland, Denmark, Japan or Indonesia
While overseas, the Scouts attended local schools and took part in activities at their host family’s Scout Group – one Venturer Scout’s exchange even featured on a Danish regional TV station! If you’d like to be considered as part of the 2018-2019 cultural exchange to Denmark, Japan, or new host countries Scotland and Indonesia, apply by 1 April 2018 at the latest, or experience international Scouting at home by hosting Venturer Scouts from overseas, for six to eight weeks during the Australian winter – applications forms are available.
