Lord Baden-Powell Society Continues Supporting Scouting Members

In addition to supporting young people to participate in the 2018 Australian Venture, the Lord Baden-Powell Society assisted Adult Leaders to experience the action and challenge of the event.

One Venturer Leader supported by the Society to attend the Australian Venture, Ruth, shares her experience of the event:

I received a grant to go towards my payments to attend AV2018 in Queensland. This helped me greatly, because as a volunteer Leader, every cent received went towards paying for my chosen expedition. As a volunteer Leader I love what I do, and having been bestowed a grant, helped me greatly.

I went on the ‘Get Urban’ Expedition, where we travelled from the Gold Coast via Brisbane to Noosa. The youth members had a fantastic time, and I did too! ‘Get Urban’ was an Amazing Race style expedition, which provided the opportunity to see so much of Queensland!

The rest of the Venture was an amazing experience, and I would definitely go again.
