McHappy Day is on again. This is the 12th year that Scouts have been invited to participate at their local McDonalds restaurant, and collect donations on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC Australia). Last year over $4million was raised for the charities.
RMHC provides 16 homes around Australia, for the families of seriously ill children whilst they are having treatment. They also provide family rooms within hospitals where families can take a break from the stress of many hours spent by their child’s bedside. The Ronald McDonald Learning Program helps more than 1,200 children each week catch up on missed schooling following a serious illness. RMHC also provides families with seriously ill children a week’s free accommodation at one of four family retreats, enabling them to reconnect and enjoy a holiday when they need it most and can least afford it. Before the event you will be sent the contact for your local McHappy Day event manager, who will finalise details with you. Following the event, all Scouting participants will be given a commemorative badge. So sign your Group up today and keep the 17th of November free for a great cause!
