National Adviser Diversity & Inclusion

Be Scouts Australia’s first Diversity and Inclusion Adviser with this new role!

In this volunteer position, you will support Scouts Australia to actively embrace diversity and ensure Scouting is inclusive. The role forms part of the National Sustainability Team, and with volunteers and staff from across Scouts Australia, you will ensure that our practices, policies and initiatives reflect best practice in diversity and inclusion, and complies with relevant legislation, our values, and the policies of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. You will work with a team of volunteers from across Australia, driving and supporting initiatives that ensure we reflect the diversity of contemporary Australia, and drive inclusive practices so more people can participate in Scouting.

To be successful in the role, you will have experience leading a team of people and working at a State and/or National level. You will bring outstanding communication, consultation, engagement and management skills, as well as highly developed skills in guiding, influencing and developing relationships with a diverse stakeholder base. You will have (or be developing) a good working knowledge about diversity & inclusion, bringing your skills and experience to help Scouting be a community leader in this area.
