The Lord Baden-Powell Society thanks its members and donors for their generosity during 2018. Your donations are providing valuable opportunities for our Scouting members.
Since 1984, Members of the Lord Baden-Powell Society have helped young Australians experience the benefits and joy of Scouting.
The Society was originally formed by a group of concerned Leaders to assist Scouts Australia with private financial support.
Today, many prominent citizens acknowledge the role Scouting has in developing personal characteristics that can’t be learned elsewhere.
These include self-reliance, discipline, high moral values, team building and, respect for each other and the environment. It continues the spirit of Scouting originated in 1907 by Lord Robert Baden-Powell himself, who shaped so many young lives. By becoming a Member of the Lord Baden-Powell Society, you’ll help Scouts Australia continue its valuable programs.
Your membership helps to shape young lives. Your financial support goes towards:
- Supporting disadvantaged youth members to experience the life changing benefits of Scouting through direct grants and awards.
- Ensuring that Scouting is affordable and accessible to everyone by keeping member fees low.
- Providing quality leadership through training and recruitment programs.
- Helping to create upstanding citizens and leaders of tomorrow.
In 2018, the Society supported 23 Venturer Scouts to attend the Australian Venture in January. We have published in our monthly National News a couple of reports every month throughout the year to share the experiences of the youth members who attended.
Our year of accomplishment was to successfully fundraise over $100,000 for the Jamboree Fund which will support 186 Scouts to attend the upcoming AJ2019 in Tailem Bend, South Australia, in January 2019.

The Society’s Honours Roll will be available to be viewed by June of the next year, on the Scouts Australia National website.
Scouts Australia gratefully recognises the contribution made to Scouting by the Society’s long established and loyal members.
The Society would like to thank all its past and current generous Members for their continued support, and would like to wish everyone who has donated to the Lord Baden-Powell Society, a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
