Clean Up Australia Day is coming up on the first weekend of March! Create or join an event, and buy your blanket badge to recognise your involvement.
Join Scouts, community members and businesses across the country as we clean up our local parks, waterways, beaches and bushlands. All Scout Groups are strongly encouraged to sign up their site under the ‘youth’ category (please include the word Scout or Scouts in your site name). Make this the year Scouts have the most clean up sites and participants! Visit the Clean Up Australia Day website to sign up your local clean up site, or to join an existing one.
This is a great way for youth members to participate in some community service in the outdoors, enjoying and protecting our natural areas.
On the day, we would love to get your photos; you can share them on our Scouts Australia Environment Program Facebook Page, or on Instagram tagging @scouts.australia, @cleanupaustralia, and the hashtag #cleanupaustraliaday.
See the Clean Up Australia Day website for more information.
Finally, don’t forget to register this activity towards your Messengers of Peace contribution!
To mark your participation in Clean Up Australia, don’t forget to buy your 2019 Blanket Badge from the Scout Shop.
60c from the sale of each badge will be donated to the ‘Clean Up Australia’ organisation. This is a not-for-profit volunteer organisation devoted to cleaning up Australia. Scouts Australia are proud to support it both through cleaning up campaigns and with financial support generated through the sale of these badges.
