For 30 years, Australians have been involved in Clean Up Australia Day, and Scouts Australia has been a leading community partner. Will you and your Group be involved in the 2020 initiative, as Australians are asked to Step Up to Clean Up?
Clean Up Australia Day is the nation’s largest community-based mobilisation event, and last year more than 680,000 volunteers removed over 15,000 ute loads of rubbish from the 6,901 registered locations across the country.
For the last 30 years, Scouting has played our part in supporting this initiative as we clean up parks, forests, waterways and beaches (to name a few) in an effort to reduce the waste in our environment. The 2020 event occurs on Sunday 1st March so now is the time to register your event and site for the 2020 campaign.
For the first time in 2020 you will be able to see where other Scout Groups across the country will be cleaning up, so don’t forget to identify yourself as belonging to Scouting when creating your event!
We look forward to seeing Scouts out and about, continuing to do our part in cleaning up our local communities and environments, as we continue to create a better world.
