Scouts Pledge Action on Earth Hour

Earth Hour is the world’s largest movement for environmental sustainability. How did you pledge your support for a greener future?

Earth Hour was on Saturday 28th March, with Scouts from around Australia participating in local events to show their support for a global movement.

The World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) have a partnership with WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) who started the Earth Hour movement. This event has grown over the years to be so much more than just simply encouraging people to turn the lights off for an hour. It is a series of community initiatives to foster discussion around how we can live more sustainably.

Harry Cuneo (8) and Archie Cuneo (5) were both excited to be part of Earth Hour activities, joining millions of Australians taking part in the world’s largest environmental movement.

It’s not too late to get your local Scout Group involved! Think about ways you can be more sustainable in your meetings, adventures or lifestyle.

To find out more, head to earthhour.org.au, follow the hashtag #switchoff on social media, or share your own Earth hour event online.
