Scouts Australia congratulates David Jones AM FCA on receiving the prestigious Bronze Wolf, the highest honour of World Scouting.
Mr David Wynne Jones AM FCA, Chair of the Lord Baden-Powell Society, is the 11th Australian to be awarded World Scouting’s Bronze Wolf since it was first awarded in 1935. David’s efforts are extensive and his contribution to Australian, Asia-Pacific and World Scouting are immense.
David has held many roles in Scouting in Australia and internationally. He joined the Movement as a Wolf Cub in 1948, and became an adult leader in 1960. With a considerable background in accounting and finance, David has contributed his invaluable knowledge of financial management to Scouting at all levels.
David is a member of the National Finance Sub-Committee, and served as the Chair of the National Executive Committee from 2009 – 2015. Within his home state of Victoria, David is the Chair of Victorian Scout Foundation, and contributes to Friends of Scouting (Victoria). In 1991, David also led the Australian Contingent to the 17th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea.
Internationally David has made enormous contributions to many Asia-Pacific Region pursuits. He has served as the Chair of the APR Financial Resources Sub-Committee (2015-2018), having been a Member from 2012 to 2015. From 2015 to 2018 David was also a Member of the APR Scout Foundation Management Committee. Currently, David leads the APR Scout Bazaar Sub-Committee, and is the Director of Scout Bazaar. David was also a Member of the WOSM Finance Sub-Committee from 2014 – 2017.

In 1991 David was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), and was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2010 “for continued service to youth through executive roles with the Scouting movement and as the national coordinator of the Scouts 100 Year Water Tank Project.” He has been awarded the Silver Kangaroo and the APR Chairman’s Award. David is a Life Member of Scouts Australia.
Professionally, David is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand having worked in the industry for many years.
