Scouts Australia Institute of Training

What Is A Qualification?

The Scouts Australia Institute of Training continues to provide industry recognised qualifications throughout this pandemic. But what exactly are the qualifications?

Some recent questions that Assessors from the Scouts Australia Institute of Training (SAIT) have been asked:

  • What is a qualification?
  • How much does a qualification from SAIT cost?
  • What is the difference between a Certificate II and a Certificate III?
  • Is this certificate the same as a certificate from TAFE?

Members of Scouts Australia can complete qualifications at no cost. SAIT Assessors use your experiences and learning from Scouting to recognise your learning and help you achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

The Australian Qualifications Framework includes all qualifications from the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (HSC, VCE, WACE, QCE, SACE) through to a Doctoral Degree (PhD). Including TAFE, there are over 4,000 Registered Training Organisations (RTO) that offer Vocational Education and Training qualifications and each qualification has clearly defined standards that must be met before the students can be awarded the qualification.

The Scouts Australia Institute of Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO:5443) that offers qualifications from Certificate II through to Diploma at no cost to the members of Scouts Australia. For further information, click here.
