Measuring Our Understanding of Sustainability

In 2021, we will be embracing a new challenge to help build our awareness around sustainable development and to support our members to take action in Scouting and their local communities. Before we get started though, we want to know what you already know about sustainability.

We’ve been working on a new and exciting program idea, and while we are really keen to tell you more, we don’t want to affect the results of this survey. So for now, we are asking you to fill out this “sustainability knowledge baseline survey”, and share the link with other members so they can contribute too.

Why a survey? When it comes to sustainability, we may all have different understandings, or opinions as to what it means, and what it involves. And we want to know what it means to you. We are collecting this information to tell us what our members already know to help us continue to shape our contribution to sustainability.

We’ll update some of the survey in future to see what affect our program idea has had on our organisation’s sustainability knowledge and action.

The survey should only take about five to ten minutes of your time, and responses are anonymous. We only need one response per person, though we hope to ask you some of these questions again next year to see what may have changed. Click here to complete the survey

The survey will be open from 30th September to 4th November 2020. You are more than welcome to get a parent/guardian help you complete the survey if you like. Please share the survey link with other young people and adult leaders so we can benchmark our sustainability knowledge.

If you have any questions, or would like to offer your skills to help us with sustainable development in Scouts Australia, please email the team.
