It is with great sadness that Dr Bruce Munro AM has decided to step down from the Executive Committee Members group of the Lord Baden-Powell Society after 15 years of dedicated voluntary service to the Society.
Dr Munro has not only been a great supporter of the Society but is also a current financial donor and has been for many years.

1979 – Received Cub Scout Wood Badge
1982/3 – Assistant Troop Leader at 13th Australian Jamboree
1983 – District Cub Scout Leader, St Ives District
1985/6 – Sub-camp Administration Manager at 14th Australian Jamboree
1986 – Branch Commissioner for Cub Scouts, NSW Branch
1988 – Assistant Chief Commissioner, NSW Branch
1987/88 – Assistant Director Administration at 16th World Jamboree at Cataract Park
1988 – Ku-ring-gai Council Community Service Award
1988/9 – Deputy Contingent Leader at 15th Australian Jamboree
1989 – Received Medal of Merit for Specially Good Service to The Scout Movement
1990 – Leader of Adults Wood Badge and was appointed Chief Commissioner of NSW Branch
1993 – Attended World Scout Conference in Thailand as an Observer
1994 – Received Silver Acorn for Specially Distinguished Service to The Scout Movement
1995 – Appointed Honorary Commissioner, NSW Branch
1997 – Appointed a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia for “Service to the Community, particularly the development of youth through the NSW Branch of the Scout Association of Australia and to the Australian Sugar Industry”
1998 – Appointed Chairman, NSW Branch
1998 – Administration Leader at 18th Australian Jamboree
1999 – Appointed Chief Commissioner of Australia
2001 – Received the Silver Kangaroo for Eminent Achievement and Meritorious Service to the Scout Movement
2001 – National Team Leader to the Asia Pacific Scout Conference in Delhi
2001 – National Team Leader at 19th Australian Jamboree
2002 – National Team Leader at 36th World Scout Conference in Greece
2002 – Member of the APR Adult Resources Committee
2002 – National Project Commissioner to continue work started to determine a model that might be used to introduce Scouting into the Indigenous Community.
2003 – Awarded a Centenary Medal for “Service to Australian Society through Scouts Australia”
2003 – Appointed to the Branch Council as a Life Counsellor, Scouts Australia, NSW Branch.
2003 – Appointed a Life Member of the National Council.
2005 – Joined the Management Committee of the Lord Baden-Powell Society to present
2010 – Appointed Junior Vice President, Scouts Australia
