What is a Food House?

A Food House is a food and cultural experience designed to highlight the unique flavours of the world and provide an alternative to camp cooking. The Australian Food House Team will be providing taste of Australia meals to Scouts and adult leaders for 11 days. Anyone can come and buy our food and experience the aroma, taste and flavours of a good Aussie meal. It is also a chance to demonstrate our Aussie culture, to meet with friends and for our Australian Scouts to have a home away from home.

Why Get Involved?

If you love Australia, you love food, and you love Scouting, then this is the place for you. This is a chance to blend it all together, meet amazing people and contribute to the World Scout Jamboree. The Food House can also give you an amazing experience and training to continue your passion with food.

Who Do We Need?

We are looking for Rovers and Leaders who would like the opportunity to showcase our Australian food and culture. Positions are available as part of the International Service Team (IST) to nominate for the Australian Food House. You don’t need to be able to cook, we have positions available in preparation, front of house and logistics and yes, cooking. You will work hard but the experience is a once in a lifetime chance to get involved. Apply as IST now!
