International Learning

Gaining perspective and broadening your horizons!

Scouts Australia Institute of Training (RTO No. 5443) (SAIT) is a Registered Training Organisation that offers recognition of prior learning (RPL) to those who have gained knowledge and skills outside of the traditional classroom environment. This recognition can be incredibly beneficial for those who have experience leading international trips, as it provides a way for them to gain recognition for their organisational and management skills.

SAIT does not offer courses, but instead focuses on providing recognition for the skills and knowledge that individuals have already gained through their experiences through Scouting and elsewhere in their journey. For leaders of international trips, this recognition can be incredibly valuable, as it provides a way for them to demonstrate their skills to potential employers or clients.

The RPL process involves an assessment of an individual’s skills and knowledge, and a comparison of these skills and knowledge to the requirements of a particular qualification. If the individual’s skills and knowledge meet the requirements of the qualification, they may be granted credit towards the qualification.

For leaders of international trips, SAIT offers recognition for a range of skills and knowledge, including project management, risk management, and leadership. By gaining recognition for these skills, leaders can demonstrate to potential employers or clients that they have the experience and knowledge necessary to successfully lead an international trip.

In addition to offering recognition for leaders of international trips, SAIT also offers recognition for participants in these trips. For example, a participant who has gained experience in working with diverse groups of people during an international trip may be able to use this experience to gain recognition towards a qualification which includes this requirement.

Overall, SAIT offers a valuable bonus for leaders and participants in international trips. By providing recognition for skills and knowledge gained outside of the classroom environment, SAIT allows individuals to gain recognition for their experience and skills, and to use this recognition to further their education and career goals. If you are a leader or participant in an international trip, consider reaching out to SAIT to learn more about how you can gain recognition for your skills and knowledge. If you’re looking for a new challenge and learning experience, consider taking on an International Contingent Team role. Upcoming international events are listed on the Scouts Australia website.
