International Commissioner of Australia

Lisa Picking

On June 15 2023 Scouts Australia welcomed Lisa Picking as the next International Commissioner of Scouts Australia. Through this role, Lisa is responsible for overseeing the relationships that Scouts Australia develops with other Scouting Organisations around the world.

Lisa has been an Assistant Chief Commissioner in Victoria since 2020, focused on youth and program strategy. Her love for the Scout Program and Scouting internationally are what drive her to create a better world.

Lisa’s Scouting journey began in 2006 when she joined as a Rover in Dingley, Victoria. Her passion and dedication earned her the B-P Award in 2011. Lisa’s first international event in the UK was with Guides in 2001, from there she went on to participate in the 69th New Zealand Moot in 2011 and to the 70th New Zealand Moot as Contingent Leader in 2012. She has held leadership positions in various contingents, including as Contingent Advisor for KISC2016 and Deputy Contingent Leader for NZV2019. She also held the role of State Commissioner – International in Victoria from 2015 – 2020. Lisa is currently the Contingent Leader for the KISC100 Contingent and is also an Assistant Leader Trainer.

Professionally, Lisa works as a project and relationship manager for Sport and Recreation Victoria. She holds a Master’s degree in Business (Sport Management) and completed the Foundations of Directorship course with the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2022.

She is deeply committed to creating opportunities for our youth members to explore the world and to facilitate their own opportunities both at home and abroad.
