Scouts Australia is happy to announce that Peter Gould ESM has been appointed to the role of Assistant National Commissioner Adult Training & Development.
Pete began his Scouting journey in 1981 as a Cub Scout in Brisbane and continued through to achieve his Queen’s Scout Award. Pete has held a variety of Leader roles in the Movement including Assistant Scout Leader, Branch Advisor – Rock Activities, Group Leader, District Leader, Region Commissioner and is currently Branch Commissioner – Adventurous Activities in Queensland Branch.
Scouting has been a family thing for the Gould’s with Pete’s wife Karen being a Youth Program Leader for several years and now as the Assistant Group Leader at their home Group – Mount Cotton Scout Group. Pete and Karen’s daughters, Georgia and Loralie, have had youth member journeys from Joey Scouts to Venturer Scouts.
Professionally Pete is a Registered Nurse who has worked for many years in the Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing space. Pete currently holds a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager role at Urban Utilities in Brisbane. Pete has decades of experience in the training and development space have worked professionally and as a volunteer in several Public Safety Agencies and has delivered thousands of hours of training in a variety of subject areas.
Pete is looking forward to making a difference and making it count in the Adult Training and Development space for members as we continue to grow the Movement.
Pete’s appointment commenced on 1 October 2023 for a period of 3 years.
