Renewal Frequency of the mandatory on demand learning modules is changing from every 3 years to every 2 years.
Parents have a right to expect that an organisation will do all that it can to keep their child safe from harm or abuse. Scouts Australia is a child safe organisation. Scouts Australia is inclusive of all, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, or abilities and does not tolerate any form of harm, abuse or neglect.
Being a child safe organisation is our social license to operate and cannot be a static position.
When Scouts Australia introduced the Child Safe Scouting and WHS On Demand Learning modules it included a requirement that Adults in Scouting re-sit the modules every 3 years.
To demonstrate our commitment to the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, particularly to ensure education and training is ongoing, we are changing the renewal frequency from every 3 years to every 2 years.
Adults in Scouting continue to remain vigilant in protecting young people in our care through more regular refresher training.
The renewal frequency change will be implemented on Tuesday, 18 June 2024. How will this occur?

There will be no change to that date.
