King’s Scout Award

Dear Fellow Scouts,

I have received advice from Buckingham Palace to advise that following a thorough analysis of over one thousand organisations, His Majesty, King Charles III, has confirmed his delight to accept the Patronage of The Scout Association of Australia.

To this end, I am pleased to confirm that the peak award for the Venturer Scout section will be named the King’s Scout Award. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that His Majesty’s patronage would commence from the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation. Peak awards will be backdated to May 2024 and re-issued as King’s Scout Awards.

Scouts Australia is redesigning the certificate which will be available to Branches shortly.

On behalf of Scouts Australia, I have expressed our thanks and gratitude to His Majesty.

Yours in Scouting,

Brendan J Watson OAM
Chief Commissioner of Australia

Where can I find the Royal Portrait of His Majesty, King Charles III to be displayed in Scout Halls?

Groups wishing to replace existing portraits may do so by downloading a high quality image from here and printing a high quality colour image or (as is usual practice) requesting printed versions of the portraits through their Federal Member of the House of Representatives or Senate in their state or territory.
