Scouts Australia Code of Conduct

Strengthening Our Commitment to a Safe and Positive Environment

Scouts Australia is excited to announce that we are updating our Code of Conduct to provide clearer expectations and reinforce our commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment. This updated Code of Conduct is not just a guideline but a personal and binding commitment that must be upheld at all times.

To ensure that everyone in Scouting understands and adheres to these responsibilities, Scouts Australia has introduced a new, mandatory on-demand learning module. The module will take a little over 10 minutes to complete. It is available on training.scouts.com.au under Mandatory Training. It has been designed to help all adults (aged 18 and over) in Scouting stay informed about the expectations and best practices that support the well-being and safety of the young people in our organisation.

We are asking current members to complete the module by World Scout Day on 1 August, 2025. New members will be required to complete it within three months of joining.

Completing this module is a vital step to support and reinforce your dedication and commitment to make Scouting a place where young people can thrive, explore, and develop into tomorrow’s leaders. The enthusiasm and passion you bring to Scouting makes it so special, and our membership is endlessly grateful for the time and effort each of you contributes.

Together, we can continue to build a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all Scouts. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the values that make Scouting so impactful!
