Scouts Australia is thrilled to announce that Nikketah Cuneo has been elected as a member of the prestigious Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee. This significant achievement took place at the 28th Asia-Pacific Region Scout Conference in Taiwan, where Nikketah’s election marked a historic milestone for both her personal journey and the broader Scouting movement.
Nikketah becomes only the 4th women ever to be elected to the Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee since the Committee’s founding in 1962. This achievement highlights her exceptional leadership and dedication to the Scouting movement, while also shining a spotlight on the increasing representation of women in key roles within global Scouting organizations.
Scouts Australia has had 12 members elected to the Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee since its inception in 1962. Of those, two have been women. The first was Kirsty Brown AM, who served from 1998 to 2004, becoming both the first women from Australia and the first women ever elected to the Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee. Nikketah follows in Kirsty’s footsteps.
Her appointment to the Committee will see her serve for a six-year term, during which she will work alongside fellow committee members to shape the future of Scouting across the Asia-Pacific region. This includes driving initiatives that strengthen the program, foster youth leadership, and promote diversity and inclusion within the movement.
Nikketah’s election is a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication she has consistently shown throughout her Scouting journey. With years of experience in Scouting leadership, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of Scouts in the Asia-Pacific region.
Nikketah’s contributions to Scouting go beyond her individual achievements. Her leadership experience spans many years, and she is known for her ability to inspire others and work collaboratively with fellow Scouts and Leaders across the globe.

Through her role on the Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee, Nikketah aims to build on the Region’s strengths while addressing the challenges it faces. Whether it’s fostering more sustainable programs, encouraging youth participation, or making Scouting more accessible, Nikketah’s leadership will undoubtedly help shape the future of Scouting in the Region.
With Nikketah on the Committee, the Asia-Pacific Region is poised for continued growth and success. Scouts Australia is incredibly proud of Nikketah’s accomplishments and looks forward to seeing the positive impact she will have on Scouting in our Region.
