Are you ready for your next challenge in Scouting? Are you passionate about developing the next generation of young people, shaping the future of Scouting, and want to make a difference?
Scouts Australia is seeking applications from suitable applicants to be the next Chief Commissioner of Australia. The Chief Commissioner is responsible for leading the strategic and operational direction of Scouts Australia, working with branch leadership teams to deliver quality youth-led programs, and promoting Scouting to the community. It’s the Chief Commissioner’s responsibility to ensure we deliver on our promise of an adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive experience for all our members. This volunteer position is offered for an initial period of 3 years and will suit an applicant who is able to devote quality time and their passion to the role.
As Chief Commissioner of Australia, you will represent Scouting on a national and international level. You will have the opportunity to lead Scouts Australia, support the development of children and young people and effectively shape the future of the organisation. This is an exciting role suitable for someone who has a vision for Scouting in Australia and is able to inspire and lead the organisation.
The applicant must:
A sound understanding of Scouting, its principles, values and mission is highly regarded but not necessary.
The selection panel is looking for candidates that demonstrate: an ability to manage a large and complex organisation, a track record delivering major projects, a clear vision for Scouting in Australia, and the ability to lead change with self-awareness and empathy.
We encourage all interested people to apply – even if you do not think you fit the description of a typical Chief Commissioner. In cases where candidates do not meet a key criterion, we encourage candidates to think about (and tell us) how they would mitigate this.
