To kick-start our fundraising efforts for the both the next World Scout Jamboree (WSJ2027), as well as the Australian Jamboree (AJ2028). The Lord Baden-Powell Society (LBPS) would like to share the experience report from one of the youth members who received funding and attended AJ2025 at Maryborough, Queensland 2025.
To the Lord Baden-Powell Society,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sponsoring me to get to AJ2025. I also made and sold bags of wood chips and kindling to help me achieve my goal of going.
I had a great time at AJ2025. It was awesome flying over. It was a weird and different experience for me, but it was fun. Some of my favourite activities were the mud run, where we got to run in a really dirty creek, passing through obstacles as we went. Another one was ‘Your Seaside’, where we went to the beach.
We did other activities like snorkelling, raft building, inflatables and water games. My favourite activity was the raft building. We had to build a raft with eight PVC poles and some rope. My patrol’s raft pretty much failed, but it was fun. And when we went to Australia Zoo, it was a blast. We saw many animals. The snakes where my favourite.
The food at camp was good especially the dinners. My favourite was the butter chicken and rice. The weather was unpredictable because it was very wet for the first few days. Once the weather cleared up, I got to experience the super humid/muggy weather which is so different to back home.
Whilst at the Jamboree my ultimate favourite activity was badge trading. I traded so many badges with the international ones being my favourite.
Because of the money you have sponsored me, I:
So thank you for helping me get there!
