JOTA-JOTI is open to Scouts of all ages. Participants aged 13 and over can register themselves, while those aged 13–18 should involve a parent or guardian throughout the event. Children under 13 must be registered by a parent or guardian, who must remain with them for the entire event. Adults, including event organisers, are required to complete the Be Safe Online (Adults in Scouting) e-learning course before participating.
JOTA-JOTI is a fun and engaging way to incorporate STEM, communications, electronics, and amateur radio into your Scouting program. It also provides opportunities for Special Interest Area (SIA) projects while helping Scouts develop new skills, make global connections, and experience the worldwide Scouting community.
To participate, find a local JOTA-JOTI site or register your own event through vkjotajoti.com, or if you wish to participate individually, can also register directly at jotajoti.info to join the global event.

Scouts can expect an exciting experience filled with new friendships, global connections, fun challenges, and opportunities to learn about technology, communications, and different cultures. It’s a chance to connect with Scouts around the world, try new activities, and be part of the worldwide Scouting community. Scouts should come prepared with some conversation starters, an open mind, and a willingness to learn about and share experiences with Scouts from different countries and cultures.
Before you dive into the adventure, don’t forget to visit Scouts Central and check that all your mandatory modules are up to date. Revisiting the Being Safe Online and Safe From Harm Guidelines is an essential step in making JOTA-JOTI a safe, positive, and fun experience for everyone.
