Chair of Internal Governance Sub-Committee

Scouts Australia is seeking a dedicated volunteer to take on the role of Chair, Internal Governance Sub-Committee – a position appointed for up to three years by the National Executive Committee (the board). About the role
The Internal Governance Sub-Committee plays a vital role in supporting the National Executive Committee (the board of Scouts Australia) in key governance and corporate management functions of the Scout Association of Australia. The Chair of the Sub-Committee is responsible for ensuring the committee provides effective advice and oversight across:
- Governance advice
- Insurance
- Business continuity
- Risk management
- Nomination and remuneration
As Chair, you’ll collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, the National General Manager, Chair of the NEC, finance staff, contractors, and other National Sub-Committees to help ensure sound strategic oversight and delivery of a workplan.
This is an unpaid volunteer role and the successful applicant must undertake Police and Working with Children Checks prior to appointment.

Selection Process
After applications close, the Selection Advisory Panel will convene to review the applications and shortlist applicants for interview. All interviews will be conducted online.
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the role from November.
