挑戦 ~神石から未来への一歩~

It is with great pleasure to announce the Australian Contingent has been approved to commence planning for the 19th Nippon Scout Jamboree (19NSJ). The Japanese National Jamboree is held once every 3-5 years, and this is the first face to face National Jamboree for Japan after the COVID. The 19NSJ is expecting a total of 8000 Scouts, Venturer Scouts, and Leaders from all over Japan and abroad!

The 19NSJ is a great opportunity for Scouts and Venturer Scouts to extend their Scouting network overseas while uplifting your Scouting skills and knowledge with Scouts from the land of the rising sun.

The Scouts Australia team is currently working with the Scouts Association of Japan on finer details of this experience.

More information will be shared as we progress our journey. Please stay tuned!

Important:  The 19th Nippon Scout Jamboree is being held in the Japanese summer and therefore will be very hot and humid. Additionally, there will be significant language, cultural and societal differences to be aware of and comfortable with.

Additionally, the 19th Nippon Scout Jamboree has set clear expectations regarding the event and requirements of participants.

  • The overall size of the event is capped to 8000 personnel to ensure resources including water are used wisely. As such, it is expected that participants do not waste water, and are aware and trained to use wisely throughout the event.
  • Unlike a typical Australian Jamboree, each Jamboree Unit Patrol are expected to cook their own meals over an open fire, three times a day, within a 90 minute meal preparation and consumption window.
  • All participants are to respect local rules and practices, and to fellow Scouts and Leaders, and to live by our Scout Law and Promise at all times.
