Certificate II in Workplace Skills

BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills
The Certificate II in Workplace Skills is a nationally recognised qualification which reflects the role of individuals in a variety of entry-level Business Services job roles.

This qualification also reflects the role of individuals who have not yet entered the workforce, and are developing the necessary skills in preparation for work. These individuals carry out a range of basic procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require self-management and technology skills.

They perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision.

This qualification aligns well to the learning in Venturer Scouts, where youth members are taking greater responsibility for leading activities, planning camps, and running their Unit Council with support from adults.

This qualification may contribute to your Secondary School Certificate, contact your local SAIT representative to seek more information.

Typical Scouting Pathway
Experiences and learning received by Venturer Scouts across Australia, aligns closely to the requirements of Certificate II in Workplace Skills. Any member of Scouts Australia who has sufficient evidence can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

A typical pathway that enables collection of valid evidence is a Venturer Scout;

    • Have at least six (6) months Scouting experience and completed the relevant learning pathways.
    • Have completed Stage 5 Core Skills in the outdoor adventure skills.
    • Have completed at least Milestone 1.

After completing your enrolment with the Scouts Australia Institute of Training (SAIT), a SAIT assessor will be assigned to you and they will assess your evidence. They may ask for further evidence or have a conversation with you to gather further information about your experiences. After successfully completing your Recognition of Prior Learning assessment, you will receive a Certificate II in Workplace Skills (BSB20120).
