Youth Town Halls
Youth Town Halls are a chance for young people to have a real say in how Scouting works in Australia. It’s an open, youth-led conversation where members can share honest feedback on the things that matter most to them.
Sessions are relaxed, structured around key topics, and designed to make it easy to speak up – so young people can focus on saying what they actually think, not worrying about how to say it.
Town Hall 1: Achievement Pathways Improvements
In 2025, we asked for your help shaping the future of the Achievement Pathways. Based on your feedback, Scouts Australia is ready to make some real changes to make the Youth Program easier to deliver and more impactful for everyone.
Now we want your say on what’s being proposed. Join us on April 21 to hear about the changes, share your thoughts, and help shape the future of your Scouting journey.

What are we discussing?
As part of Key Move 1 of Scouts Australia’s strategic plan, we’re making delivery of the program easier and more impactful. Last year, young people and adult volunteers across Australia participated in locally-led consultation activities to share their experiences with the Achievement Pathways and offer input on areas for improvement.
This consultation informed the design of enhancements that will make the Achievement Pathways more adventurous, fun, challenging, and inclusive going forward. Now it’s time to share the improvements we’ve designed with members to make sure we’re on the right track.
Your feedback will help us to sharpen and clarify the improvements so that when it’s time for implementation later this year, we know they’re refined, robust, and ready to roll out.
Why Town Halls?
In a movement of young people, engaging youth members in decision-making ensures improved representation and provides valuable insights. The World Scout Youth Involvement Policy suggests that ‘opportunities for involvement in decision-making and information on decisions made should be promoted to all young people’ in a National Scout Organisation.
As such, Scouts Australia is planning to hold Youth Town Halls twice each year. Just as town halls in a community are an opportunity for community leaders to discuss topics of interest with citizens, our Youth Town Halls will provide a platform for consultation and information-sharing with youth members.
These Youth Town Halls are about more than listening. They’re about trust; trusting young people to know what they need and empowering them to help lead the movement they belong to.
