Friday 5th June 2020 is World Environment Day, and today the Scouts Australia National Environment Team release a series of checklists to support evaluating our environmental behaviours and impacts!
The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature.
Yet, these are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message:
To care for ourselves we must care for nature.
It’s time to wake up. To take notice. To raise our voices.
It’s time to build back better for People and Planet.
This World Environment Day, it’s Time for Nature.
The theme of World Environment Day 2020 is “Time for Nature“. All living things are connected in the web of life – our actions, our behaviours, our decisions all impact on the environment we shape for the citizens of today and tomorrow.
As Scouts, we are challenged to Be Respectful, to care for others and the environment. Globally, we are challenged to create a better world. What are you going to do today, that will shape a more environmentally sustainable future for the youth of tomorrow?
