Association of Top Achiever Scouts (ATAS)

The Association of Top Achiever Scouts (ATAS) brings together Scouts from around the world who have achieved their country’s peak youth award.

Association of Top Achiever Scouts (ATAS) was formed in 2004 as a loose fraternity to unite all leaders who were once top achievers (equivalent to our Queen’s Scout, Queen’s Guide and Baden-Powell Scout Awardees) when they were youth members to encourage them to assist and promote the aspiration of their youth members in their own NSOs to achieve the same level of success. In addition, this is a network for fun and fraternity open to all those who never grow old nor tired of Scouting.

The Association is not a centralised organisation, it does not have the human and financial resources to manage such a diverse and large fraternity nor can it replace the program function of each NSO. ATAS has flourished through the hard work of Simon Rhee (Korea Scout Association) who is the Associations President. The group meets at all world and Region events and is co-ordinated by an NSO Coordinator. Membership is registered through Hong Kong.

To become a member, you need to complete the membership form and return it to the Australian Coordinator, Kirsty Brown AM at proj.comm@scoutsqld.com.au with the required attachments (copy of Queen’s Scout and or Baden-Powell Award Certificates plus a passport photo attached to the form). Queen’s Guides prior to 1970 are eligible to join. The form will then be processed through the central membership officer.

To receive your Membership Badge you must attend an ATAS event overseas or within Australia but the badge may NOT be worn on your Scouts Australia uniform. All members are eligible to attend ATAS events in any NSO or overseas event if registered in Australia for overseas travel. Just remember your membership number to attend.

Two ATAS Gatherings have been held in Australia at the last two National Jamborees and National Ventures. Invitations prior to such events are published widely. It is hoped that ATAS members contribute widely locally, nationally and globally.
