National Opportunities

National Adviser Creative and Performing Arts

We’re looking for a National Adviser, Creative and Performing Arts to ensure our members are supported in embracing the Creative & Performing Arts throughout our program.

 

You will work with members of the National Youth Program Team, and wider Creative and Performing Arts volunteers from across Australia, advocating and supporting initiatives that ensure we reflect the creativity of contemporary Australia in Scouting.

To be successful in the role, you will have experience leading a team of people and working across Scouting levels. You will bring outstanding communication, consultation, engagement and management skills, as well as highly developed skills in guiding, influencing and developing relationships with a diverse stakeholder base. You will have a good working knowledge of The Arts and the Vocational Qualifications available.

Selection Criteria

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage our members within the Creative Challenge Area
  • A demonstrated ability to influence and work as a member of teams and in various roles to meet strategic goals
  • A demonstrated capacity to establish relationships with key governing bodies for the delivery of Creative Arts within Australia
  • Relevant qualifications (minimum Certificate II in Creative Industries), or relevant and sustained experience in The Arts.
  • Hold a Wood Badge, and have completed or be willing to complete Leader of Adults Advanced training within 12 months of appointment.

 

Applicants will submit an Expression of Interest, listing two referees, with one of the referees being a current supervisor in Scouting. Expressions of interest should include a cover letter, Curriculum Vitae (Scouting and Professional) and statements addressing the Selection Criteria (must not exceed 2 A4 pages).
