Assistant National Commissioner Youth Program Vacancy – Two Positions

Have you ever considered the ‘totality’ of Scouting? Would you like to contribute to driving the Scouting program, nationally? Are you passionate and enthusiastic about Scouting?

 

The National Commissioners for Youth Program are looking to build the core Youth Program Team – the team that supports the running and development of the program across the country.

We are searching for two volunteer Assistant National Commissioners Youth Program (ANCYP). One will focus on Youth Development Support including how we provide leadership and development opportunities throughout the program. The other will support Program Elements including leadership of our National Advisers and their projects.

As a collective team we will guide the Youth Program for Scouting in Australia.

Could This Be You?

  • The ANCYP will provide assistance to the National Commissioner Youth Program by supporting the National Youth Program Team and playing major roles in the development of projects within the Youth Program portfolio.
  • The team will work collaboratively with members of the National Youth Program Team to ensure we are providing a quality and consistent Youth Program across the country.

  • Clare Hanley (VIC) – National Adviser Diversity and Inclusion
  • Jarrad McDonald (QLD) – National Adviser Environment
  • Doug Wright (VIC) – National Adviser Creative and Performing Arts
  • Emma Watson (NSW) – National Support Team, Program Team Leader

Key Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Hold a Certificate of Adult Appointment, or be a registered and active Rover Scout;
  • An understanding of the Youth Program with an ability to inspire a Plan > Do> Review > process and a Youth Led, Adult Supported program;
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage members within the Youth Program;
  • Hold a Wood Badge and/or be willing to complete the Scouting Leadership training within 12 months of appointment.
