Earning Two Qualifications with Fewer Units

You don’t have to settle for just one qualification when you can achieve two with fewer units.

Did you know, by combining the CUA20220 Certificate II in Creative Industries and the CHC24015 Certificate II in Active Volunteering, you can maximize your learning journey and open up exciting opportunities with reduced unit requirements.

The Certificate II in Creative Industries is a nationally recognized qualification for creative individuals interested in the arts and entertainment industry. It covers various areas like acting, singing, dancing, and production and design, equipping you with essential skills for a career in creative fields. The CHC24015 Certificate II in Active Volunteering, on the other hand, is ideal for those starting their work journey. It focuses on junior workplace roles, mainly routine tasks under supervision. It places a strong emphasis on volunteering, requiring a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer work.

Combining these qualifications is possible because of overlapping units and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Units like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are relevant in both qualifications. Completing these units once gives you credit in both, saving time and effort. If you already have skills in certain areas, RPL allows you to apply them. For instance, if you’ve participated in performing arts activities, your experience may count towards specific units in the Certificate II in Active Volunteering.

Additionally, integrating tasks and projects is another way to meet the requirements of both qualifications. For example, combining volunteer work in event organizing with creative elements may fulfill criteria for both certifications seamlessly. Achieving both qualifications provides a diverse skill set highly valued in the workforce. Employers appreciate individuals who possess creative thinking and teamwork skills, along with dedication shown through volunteer work.

This can be undertaken with a range of qualifications that the Scouts Australia Institute of Training offers to members for free. Contact your Branch Commissioner VET for a discussion about your circumstances and how you may benefit from this.
