National Commissioner – Adult Training & Development

Your next challenge could be here! We’re now recruiting for an individual to develop and lead the Adult Training and Development curriculum for Scouts Australia. 

Supporting a fun, challenging, adventurous and inclusive youth program is a team of highly valued and skilled adult members. Designing and operating the curriculum for the training and development of Adults in Scouting is the National Commissioner Adult Training & Development – and we’re now recruiting!

Submitting an Application

All applications must be submitted in writing to the Chief Commissioner’s Executive Assistant, Sarah Eldridge via email to sarah.eldridge@scouts.com.au

Applications for this position close at 5PM AEST on 24 May 2024.

Don’t leave things to the last minute! Late applications will not be accepted.

You will need to include the following items in your application:

  • Details of previous related experience… including leadership positions and engagement with Adult Training & Development programs.
  • Claims detailing why you would be the best person to deliver on the key responsibilities of the role.
  • Claims detailing why you believe you have the necessary skills and attributes for the role.
  • Contact details for two (2) referees, of whom at least one must be your current team leader in Scouting.

If you are shortlisted for interview, the Selection Panel will also be contacting your Branch Chief Commissioner to ask for their endorsement of your application for the role. You might like to reach out to them and let them know that you’re applying.

Make sure that your membership details are up-to-date with your Branch. It is a requirement that you continue to hold valid membership with your Branch including the completion of any working with children checks, police checks or mandatory eLearning that may fall due during the application process.

Selection Process

After applications close, the Selection Panel will convene to review the applications and shortlist applicants for interview. Individuals who have been shortlisted for interview will be contacted to confirm your availability for the interview.

All interviews will be conducted online.

The Selection Panel will be chaired by the Chief Commissioner of Australia.
